And, we went to Germany to Erfurt, Javi, Patricia and I(Marta), in representation of our association ABIERTO ASTURIAS, dedicated to the children and youngster leisure. We took an airplane and there we appeared, and except because people spoke another language seemed to us everything very familiar, green and sunny landscapes, many trees.... everything very clean and in a perfect order, each thing seemed to be in its precise place. In order to arrive we were almost all the day travelling and used practically all means of transport: car, airplane, bus, and train, but thus everything, seemed to us a trip lightning. In the end, we arrived at our destination, with a sun which made everything brighter, even if what hits us the most was the human heat, the welcome and all the attentions of the organizers and members of BUNDESJUGENDWERK DER AWO. All of them welcomed to us with opened arms, worried at any moment about our well-being and integration, and arranged that we participated in each one of the activities and tables of work that were carried out.
I have to emphasize the impression of the program been before good organized, each thing in its site and each one in its place. We, as members of an organization oriented to the young people we know what a difficult thing is the organization of events, with participants of all the country. A perfect combination of DIVERSION and AWARENESS was obtained at any moment, with a showcase of the problems of youngest, the infantile poverty, the xenophobia..... and in general of all the damage which should be eradicate in this world and, and beginning with making the youth aware is an essential step in order to have a better world. We must make a special mention to the moved tribute and floral offering of the association in the concentration camp, a memory to the victims of the extermination of the Hebrews and the celebration of 60º anniversary of the liberation of the Nazism. We, all united must avoid that a similar barbarism never takes place again.
From our association we realize ohm much we could learn from you: the hospitality, the know-how, the awareness, the work in group. At any moment we have felt integrated and we have become richer thanks to this experience. We live in a more and more egoistic world and we worry solely about ourselves and, living experiences like this one, it makes open our world vision. This encounter with your organization causes that the INTERCULTURAL term is something tangible and real. The approach of cultures, experiences, different forms to work with young people, to develop new projects in common... we have become with the full knapsack of ideas, and mainly of friends. We have been like at home, very appreciated and mainly we have been treated like members more of your organization. I hope that the destiny will give us many opportunities to work together, to learn of each others and that is the beginning of a great friendship and collaboration between colleagues who have dedicated their common step way to the care, laisure and formation of children and young people. Finally I want to thank everybody for giving us the possibility of participating in this event, for us it has been an honour. A strong hug to all Dennys, Cristine, Peter, Barbara, Emilie, Denny, Ordi, Bryan, Natalie, Hilde...... and all in general, we hoped to see you soon, in Spain or Germany and it has been for us a pleasure this encounter.
