The Jugendwerk describes itself as a children and youngsters organization, bound to the values of humanism and social democracy, and stand up for the withdrawal of the German Government saving clause on the UN Convention on the Right of the Child. The UN Convention on the Right of the Child settles the age of eighteen for being considered a child, and that have to be adopted, complied and allowed without saving clause. That is valid both for the German Federal Republic and for the United Kingdom. Whoever doesn’t give a 16-17 years old child a legal support, and treats him/her like an adult during the asylum procedure and furnishes him/her no personal care, handles inhuman. Every child must have the right to enter into Germany, according to the UN Convention on the Right of the Child. With its saving clause the German Government puts "the Federal laws on Asylum end Strangers above the children’s wellness and interests and above the International Right”. We want
- A human handling of all the people, independently from their provenience and age.
- People as subject and not object of the politics.
- A handle with the refugee which take in consideration the age and a the related help,
- The withdrawal of the saving clause of the "German Government and the application of the UN Convention on the Right of the Child”,
- That the German Government makes an effort in the United Kingdom, US and Somalia so that they also accept the UN Convention on the Right of the Child,
- That the German Government integrates the children and youngsters in the society and helps them overcome their past and their run away

"Nothing in the convention can be laid out there, that the illegal entry of a foreigner into the area of the Federal Republic of Germany or its illegal stay there is permitted; also no regulation can be laid out there that limits the right of the Federal Republic of Germany to issue laws and regulations over the entry of foreigner and the conditions of their stay and to make differences between residents and foreigners”.
