Education is a human right
The nowadays debate and reform proposals on education and formation are far away from the real problems of our society. The proposal of privatize school and university edges out the educative and formative aims, as well as their contents. It has been talking about "more and faster”, which the promise that will build a "better” education, in a world-comparative way. The Schools and the other educational institutions should reorganize on the base of the formation industry, which pulls up citizens in line with the market economy. But education is not the quantity of knowledge which can be used directly and actually in the economy. Instead it is the capacity of analysis and critic, as well as the comprehension of the democratic and human structures. Until now, schools and universities haven’t jet fulfilled these educational purposes. People are been considered in the actual debates from the economic perspective as "Human Capital”. This human capital should increase, in order to be as useful as possible to the economy. Quantity, a value which assures a reelection in all areas, is placed above quality, in particular in the education and work policies. If the education has a commercial value, it agrees with the principle of the "Ich-AG”(1) , which has as basing principle the devaluation of the solidarity in the society. Learning all life long in order to be unsure all life long. The education quality must not be dependent on material resources nor economic wellness. Education is more than preparation for the economy, more than the knowledge, which will be necessary for the future salary. Dependent labor is not a human basic need, in particular not through the submission to the pure laws of market. Education should be in first front a human right and the guarantee of a well informed and democratic society. The guarantee for the future development of the society through human and not economic values.
We want:
- Direct financial protection for children and youngsters until the beginning their work life.
- Education and formation not as value for the economy, but for the society.
- Co-determination and participation in all the areas regarding education.
- The end of the critic to the "lazy students”.
- Turn away of the university fees.
- Establishment of a financial study help, independent from parent’s loans.
- Strength of the financial help for children and youngster who do not come from the middle class.
- A policy that will reform the educational system and society through the people and not trough the economy.
(1)Measure of the German Government in order to combat unemployment. Who has been out of work for more than one year can be financially helped to become self-employed, i.e. to build his/her own "one person company” (Ich-AG). The financial support is so divided: 600 euro pro month in the first, 360 in the second and 240 in the third year. If the company earns more than 25.000 euro in one year, the financial support will stop.
